Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data when you visit this site or get in touch with us.
Last updated: 8 August 2026
Who we are
54 Degrees Design Ltd (“54 Degrees Design”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Northern Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Company registration number: NI639611
What data we collect
When you browse the site
We don’t require you to create an account or log in to browse this site, and we don’t collect personal data just from you visiting. If enabled, aggregate, anonymous traffic statistics are collected via Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors — see our Cookie Policy for details.
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server access logs (e.g. IP address, page requested, date/time, browser type) for security, troubleshooting and aggregate visitor statistics. We view this through our host’s built-in reporting tools rather than a separate tracking script, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and understanding overall usage. These logs aren’t used to build a profile of you individually.
When you contact us
When you submit an enquiry form on this site, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, organisation, email address, and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and, if it leads to further work, to manage that relationship.
Our legal basis for processing
- Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries you send us is necessary for our legitimate interest in running our business and answering questions from prospective clients, and we don’t believe this is overridden by any risk to you.
- Contract — if your enquiry leads to us providing services to you, we process the necessary data to perform that contract.
- Consent — for the optional analytics cookie category described in our Cookie Policy, where consent is the legal basis (see that policy for why most of our analytics doesn’t require it in the first place).
Who we share data with
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do use a small number of service providers (“processors”) who handle data on our behalf, strictly to run this site and deliver enquiries to us:
- 20i — our UK-based web hosting and email delivery provider (hosting the website and, if you contact us, transmitting your enquiry to our inbox via their SMTP service).
- Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and (if enabled) privacy-first Web Analytics.
These providers only process data on our instructions and under a data processing agreement — they don’t use it for their own purposes.
International transfers
Our hosting is UK-based. Some processors we use (such as Cloudflare) operate global infrastructure and may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK GDPR, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses as adopted for UK use.
How long we keep data
We keep enquiry data only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, and — if it leads to a business relationship — for the duration of that relationship plus a reasonable period afterwards for our legal and accounting obligations. We delete or anonymise enquiry data that hasn’t led to further contact within 24 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used (this policy);
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to erase your data, in some circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing, in some circumstances;
- receive your data in a portable format, in some circumstances; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our legal basis (e.g. the optional analytics cookie).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We’ll respond within one month, as required by law.
Cookies
Full detail on the cookies this site uses, and how to control them, is in our separate Cookie Policy.
Children
This site is a business website aimed at organisations and professionals. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data we handle, including HTTPS encryption in transit and secure, UK-based hosting. No enquiry-form data is stored in a public part of the website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service that processes personal data. We’ll update the “last updated” date above when we do.
